Greetings!

Hello student athletes at the University of Northern Colorado!

My name is Cindy Dallow and I am a sports dietitian. You can read more about me at http://www.milehighsportsnutrition.com/. For right now, I want to introduce you to this blog and how it might help you become a better athlete.

Blogging is a quick, easy way for me to provide you with up-to-date nutrition information. It's also an easy way for you to ask me questions. You can either ask me in the comment section below, or send me an email and I'll answer you privately or here on this blog (whichever you prefer).

I've been blogging for quite awhile but this is the first time I've written a blog for college athletes. So, we'll learn together as we go along.

I will also provide sports nutrition information on my website but it will be more general in nature. Here, I will include my thoughts and opinions on various related topics (such as supplements, etc).

There are hundreds of new foods, beverages, and nutritional supplements marketed to athletes everyday. It's hard even for me to keep up with them all! But I'll do my best and if you find a product that you would like to ask me about, please feel free to ask me.

I am also an adjunct faculty member here at UNC. Some of you might be taking my class next fall, FND 101 Nutrition for College Athletes. It will cover a lot more than what we talk about here. But this is a good start for those of you wanting to make better food choices and/or have more energy during your training.
